From looking at the walk cycle there are eight poses that repeat from the walk cycle, as you study it the head dose not stay stationary there is a wave effect that goes up and down as a person walks.

With poser you had quarternian interpretation.  not bad as long as you had the limits set properly and turned on. Still had the occasional arm through torso\head. but easily fixed with key frames. there are walk presets for both Poser and Daz, good for starting points.
Animation is so much fun, setting up, rendering (long times), checking, fixing, rendering (ibid)..... but in the end you have something you can show and have pride in. So far? you're doing great Mike!  I'm pulling for ye.
Cheers

This video is made of poses for a walk cycle.  Being  a minor success, since I have never done this before and getting the walk cycle down.  The speed of the walk is very fast.  I believe it has do to having the key frames to close to each other on the time line.  The next video I do will explore this and see if I can get a slower walk out of the poses.  Also I used seven poses for the walk for each side of the body.   Further studies have reveled that this cycle can be done in 4 poses that will work as a walk cycle.

He certainly looks that way.  The fun comes from the challenge of doing something that is hard, overcoming it and advancing beyond it.

This video was put on the time line with three spaces between the key frames.  It did slow down the video but it is rather choppy.  Now to find the right sequence to create a clean walk cycle.  After that then will refine the walk to look more natural.

Working on cleanup and using Photoshop for Onion Skinning (A way of putting on one picture on top of the other on translucent paper to check animation.)   Using the key fames poses one can go through them three or four at a time to find flaws in the poses compared to the other poses in the series.   Noticing that I had a lag in the arm while walking help me pinpoint the flaw quickly.

Another thing I found out I can render faster if I reduce the size of the image even though it may not have the full quality of full size render it is hardly noticeable due to the fact that the image is moving.  I have reduce the size of the render in half which mean the render for the series of picture which is a one hundred render is reduce to 40 mins from over an hour for each camera angle.  I used eight cameras it took over 9 hours to render a few second of video.  Now with the reduced size it takes about 4 hours or a little less to render all frames.

One other thing I have learn is that you have to render out the full time of the action or scene, to eliminate lags to instead of trying to edit it in a video editor, since the video will lag in-between the block of video in the editor and will show up in the play back on the video .

Below is how I used Photoshop to find a posing error on the key frames with the arm.
