At the bottom of the stairs, Albany turned to Eve and started to explain Eve's new opportunity.
In short, Eve could join the crew of a starship. Her supervisors had said she was smart enough, attentive enough and able enough to move up from station lab support to ship's crew.
And this meant, Albany said, that Eve could have a new more human outer shell as her first assignment would be in the medical section.
"Of course, you can keep your current shell if that's what you want. It's still undamaged and looks good," Albany said. "Once your present problem has been addressed, just let the mechanic know and he'll bring in some femtechs, if changing is your decision."
