The Thing About Dorian
|
Djinn's arm came around her and he leaned in closer, speaking softly. "Tell me something, Glory. What did Raphael mean when he said
Angus 'knew about them because of Livi?' By 'them' - does he mean Ira and Ophelia's children - Olivia and Dorian?"
Glory turned toward him. They were sitting out on the new swing he'd gotten for the yard the day before. "There are some things
that Raphael, and those of us who've worked with him and helped him are beginning to understand is NOT just some random thing.
Dorian doesn't heal as fast as most of the rest of Weres, Vamps and Hybrids, because he's half Fae. It seems to happen only with those
who are directly half Fae. Moms in all known cases. If something gets broken, it very possibly won't re-set itself properly and will heal
messed-up. So it has to be set by hand, as if he were Human.
"That's why Raphael kept Livi longer," Glory continued, "to make sure she healed right, after giving birth to Weyland. Angus knows that,
of course. Auntie MaryJane is one too. She also had to stay extra time after having both Angus and Luna. Thankfully, Angus and Luna
shouldn't have that issue, because they're only a quarter Fae."
Glory paused then. Obviously, other wheels were still turning in her mind. "What?" Djinn asked.
"I think my sister gave him that liquor," Glory said after yet a longer pause. "And I think I know where she got it. From our mother.
It's just like something 'Rita would do to get even somehow with my grand-father, who of course makes all the liquor here except for MJ's stuff.
I'd bet Raphael thinks so, too."
"She'd do that? Why?"
"Because 'Rita defies all belief. It's her big aim in Life to break all the rules. My grandfather disowned her for betraying her family.
Yes, she would do that.
"She has, in the past on Terra, because Silvio wouldn't let her work for him. I don't know what I did to deserve all these crazy fools.
You kind of make up for it though," she smiled and kissed him. "I love this swing. Thank you!"
