The Wheel of the Year had turned eleven times since Ceridwyn had been taken in by the Druids. It was her final test.
She dressed in her novice robes, climbed the hill and began the incantation. Her friends the crows scattered as the wind rose.
As she completed the cant and gestures, a bolt split the sky over the sea.
And the thunder rolled.
