A Surprise Visit

"My friend! How are you?!" Raphael extended his hand as Djinn came toward him. This was somewhat of a surprise visit,
but the boy said he had something to talk about.

"I'm good, Raphael - and you?"

"Busy as always but today is a little slow. A good day to come. You're looking fit and fine. Does Glory think you're fit?" Raphael laughed.

Djinn rolled his eyes and grinned. "Far as I can tell. It is because of her mostly, I came today. As her legal Guardian, I wanted to be sure
that you are okay with us being together."

"Yaz and I are both her Guardians, and yes, we are fine with it. Not that it would matter with Glory," Raphael sat on the edge of his desk/table.
He stared at a moment at his boots, then cocked his head at Djinn. "In fact, I love the two of you together,
because one of you is the third generation and one is fourth. It gives the two of you together a unique perspective on things here,
as opposed to our old home. I know you went through hell after you came here. Had a lot of bad baggage to deal with, didn't you?"
Djinn nodded. "You're over that now, aye?"

"Aye, I seem to be," Djinn said, then shrugged. "You're welcome to psycho-analyse me if you like. Right now I am happy. I have something I want to build with Glory. I get the impression she wants that too. She said so. Everything is good. My father is good with it. She made sure to ask him."

Raphael laughed abruptly. "Your father absolutely adores her. I know...surprise, eh? No matter what is said of Richard, he's a good man. Now that he's out of his senile boredom, he'll be even better. This is the time for him to enjoy life in a more positive vein. So to say." Raphael winked at the pun. "We are happy for him. Did you
still want to see Dorian? He is here one more day."

"Yes, I want him to know we don't hate him," Djinn explained. "We want to fix this. Glory wants all her friends to still be friends. It's important to her. So it's important to me, too. Maybe not for the same reasons, but it is."

"Then I like you even more. She needs someone permanent in her life to take care of her - someone who isn't invested in everyone else - just her. She's not exactly had that, you know."

"I know. Don't worry. I plan on it," Djinn took Raphael's hand again and shook on it. "So, let's go see Dorian," Djinn responded with a smile.

"I think you'll find he has developed a better attitude, these last days. He's begun to realize some things. They don't all make him happy but he's dealing better with it." Raphael rose from the edge of the table and gestured for Djinn to follow him.
"You want me to stay or leave the two of you alone?"

"Whatever you think is best, Raphael."

"I'll stay, then."
