Aelin, yes, he tells the deer that he sends his love to Dawn, and he knows they can never probably be together because it's forbidden. He fell in love with her the first time he saw her because she feels like home. Home sometimes is not a place it's a person. No matter where they might go as long as he was with her he would be home. He misses the times and things they did when they were younger. She has tested him his whole life. Maybe someday she will find him worthy enough to call a friend. He loves her and he still hopes despite knowing and he hopes she feels the same way about him, but he knows she probably does not. It's enough for him to know she is still alive and he will love her until his last breath on earth, but would try and move heaven if she, her family, or her friends ever needed him. His heart still beats and is filled with love for her...... so much love he can never feel or express, but he loves others in his life too. Just that ........... this love for her is trapped in his chest like in a cage with out a key or hope to ever let it go. He's not even sure he knows what love is, but loves the deer as he loves Dawn for it's Dawn's deer and to love it is to love her. Love perhaps is God's gift, but sometimes it's God's curse. One can't help whom they love ............. just that they do and for him to love her even though they wont probably ever get to be together is enough even though it means he will forever be alone missing a part of himself.
