I need advice from you smart people.
« on: April 15, 2016, 03:37:30 PM »
As some of you know my old computer broke and I bought a new one. Unfortunately I have verified with Dell that what I bought from Amazon was not what I got. They say they will refund me the 1250.00 I spent on the computer. I want to get a computer that is good for renders in Poser and DAZ. I have seen systems with NVidia GTX 980 and 980ti also Quntro  4000 and up which can get really pricey. I am will to spent up to 2500.00 or so if necessary. What should I get and from whom in you opinion. Is there a particular computer maker who is better> should I go for a workstation or a consumer version? Thanks in advance

Perhaps McGrandpa and J could help you when they see the topic.
I don't know what computer you can use. For my part i'm only with a laptop 6Go of RAM, under Windows 8.1. I have also a Nvidia card, but don't use Iray renders.

You can actually go to Dell.com and build your own computer per what you want.  I've done that with most of my computers and the price is not to out of line and any problems go back into their lap.....

HP does the same thing....

Having gone through Dell Twice, I found they have gone way downhill. I am not even sure if they let you build your own anymore. Based on my last call to Dell sales it appears they do not do this anymore. On they website they do not offer a build your own at least un the personal side.

What I was looking for was what is a good rendering computer.
What video card models should I be looking at. I have noted that Nvida offers both personal and business video cards. The business ones are kind of pricey compared to the personals ones, but I have no frame of reference. that is why I asked for help.

I can't help much as in my country we just have to stick with what we have. But from my experience Nvidia and Intel are things to go for, I have one Dell and HP laptop and well I just wish I could get something better but how that will happen we will see :). I was thinking of getting second hand computer but I am not sure how to... :) Hm I was thinking to wait a year or two maybe, but I need advice about it if possible too  :(ROFLMAO: .
