Yes, at the end of 1980's/start of 1990's, we have too "Wheel of Fortune" ("Roue de la Fortune" here). Great success for this program.
Then restarts a little these last years; but not same mood.

It's the same play i think, with the black case, bankrupt(cy).
Good for neurons, a little like cross words.

It's commonly referred to as "lettuce"
I don't know this expression for the 'object'  :tearlaugh:

Money (de largon) is sometimes called 'lettuce' because it is green in the US. Or it was. Some is slightly tinted in other colors now.

But with the credit cards being so much in use, I think many of these soubriquets for 'money' are slowly going away.

It is also called 'cash', 'dosh', 'lucre', 'greenbacks', 'dead presidents', and 'bucks'.

"dead presidents"  :tearlaugh: Good for Halloween this expression.

"cash" is used too in France. But here too money change; with euro, it's as if we have Monopoly money  :tearlaugh:

:tearlaugh: That's really about all any of it is worth any more, Aelin!

All our money has early presidents or important persons in early politics who are now dead - like Washington, Lincoln, Jefferson, Franklin, Grant. Thus, the funny name.

Before, the francs (banknotes and coins) represented ancient great names: Victor Hugo, St-Exupéry, Voltaire... And Eiffel Tower on a special tirage of pieces.
Now, we have with euros some monuments of countries on banknotes. And important people for each country (France has Mariane, Belgique or Spain their kings...), or important symbols.
Each banknote has his own color, but texture is strange compared to ancient banknotes. And more fragile.

Having been a coin collector while growing up, and believe it or not, finding all of my collection in circulation. We are quite conversant on the hobby.

Have many pieces of currency and coinage both American and foreign.

Have more of the older British coins since I was born in England, but we do have quite a bit of coinage from other parts of the world.

Sad to say, but it's quite capable of producing lots of bun(nies) if 2 are left alone too long :pervy: :tearlaugh: :tearlaugh:
