It is not as high paying as I think it should be considering all the different line items of responsibility that I take care of, when I first started, there were three infrastructure installers. Two got promoted to system tech and were never replaced as installation tech, and now I am it. There are two other guys but as yo can guess from my trash talk they only are there for a paycheck, doing mobile installs. Getting them to do infrastructure and do it right is like ... :ummm: don't really have a good analogy this morning. I can barely get them to do basic clean up of the bay after they do a mobile install.

:sigh: I better stop now, as it is going to be a long day and if I get cranky now, it will just make it a miserable day completely for me and that I don't need.

Well, it certainly did go to the "handbasket trip" this day.

I will tell more later right now I am still mean, irritable, cranky and bad tempered and I am only on the second flask Of :sake:

One thing I can say, for multi-million dollar companies the powers that be do not learn from the past. Why? The difficulties I am encountering today have been present in the past.
Yet, we keep having to solve for the same thing every time.

"WHY"

All I can tell J, it's as soon as you can take your retirement, and you wish to be retired, don't hesitate.
Looking how TL and Rods are busy since they are retired, you won't be bored too soon.

But it's not your business what will happen to the company once you will go. You do what you have to do for your job, but you aren't the decider for the good or the bad of the company. If they want to stay on the bad side of the slope

Well, that would be nice to have some time to myself, but I do not see it any time soon since ye ole leprechaun decided to send a text message with a phone number only and no explanation.

I replied with a ? and boy did that open a can of worms ... I am so pissed off at them all that I once again could (can) spit 16 penny nails through a 2x4 ...

I have to go to Fagler (deliberate misspelling) next week to re-punch down the alarm points because they are not in the right spots.

Well, as I am fond of saying, I did it according to the list I was given ... so blow me .... give me bad information, you get what the instruction stated.

Not my problem, totally sucks that I have to go back to that abomination of a site

Well, we managed at last to get the MedCom working for the new hospital.

And I am still standing by my original statement "why do we have to reinvent the wheel every time we do an install."

The mag mount antenna for the county 800 MHz didn't work, the day before. So I went out today and after more crap then I feel a need to write down I got a line to the roof via a conduit that is incorrect but for a temporary fix to pass an AHCA inspection it will work. Oh it still didn't work  ..... WHAT !!!!

OK maybe it is not pointing at a site, which way do you want me to point the antenna .... yep blank look and 30 minutes later I still could not get an answer from him. Damn and you know this crap better then me and you have this much trouble just giving me a direction.

Well, now it is getting ugly since now we have to make another trip back to the shop to pick up test equipment to find the site. However when we got to the shop, he pulled out a omni antenna which would work regardless since it does not have to be pointed at a site (omni = omni-directional, doesn't have to be aimed)

Installed it right ahead of the storm, barely and the damn thing still would not work.

So now that it is getting to the point of ready to drop some nitro-9 in the building and level it. Ye ole senior tech decides to read the code plug in the radio ... why the hell did you not do this sooner (in retrospect) ... because guess what ... the code plug was hosed, no control channel information in it no wonder the easy fix of a mg mount did not work.

When he put the control channel info in it, had to be programmed again ... why because it had hosed the radio ID, then it also hosed the radio personality.

 :sigh:

After getting all of the bugs out of the code plug, it finally worked as intended. Got a radio check from Orange county MedCom on the desk set and at last it is working.

All I want to know is why the hell did he not think of that first? So irritated.

All the work I did today could have been avoided if we had circled back around to nail down that the code plug was correct in the first place.
