Ohhhh thanks Fafnir, that is a GOOD coffee.  Even reheated!   (glug!) that really *IS* good man!

Jherrith, I recall the day I got in my 1999 Grand Cherokee Laredo.  The cloth covered bucket seat gave me a hug and still hasn't let go, not even SEVENTEEN years later man.   GET a Ford, Dodge, Chevy or Jeep...but get an in-line 6 cylinder and 4 speed automatic overdrive tranny.   No matter what brand vehicle, FORD makes that transmission and it is a good one.  I speak from experience about the in-line 6 cylinders.  It doesn't matter the brand, those engines just don't wanna quit!  DO make sure to keep up with the oil and filter changes, and it will serve you well for 20 years plus.   My own Jeep is now 22 years old and still running fine.

G'nite folks, have a blessed evening!

Which is what I think about doing it yet again.

The real fun is now wading through all of the shysters, tricksters, liars and so forth to acquire a replacement vehicle that will not set me back to terribly much.

It is bad enough that I am certain to take a home mortgage into retirement, but to also have a car loan would be rude. Considering that if all goes well, I have set my sights on six years hence.

According to the math my student loan will be paid off prior to retirement so I count that as a win, but to make it right I would also like a vehicle that is sound and sturdy plus paid off in the same time frame.

But on the other hand....You'd be shelling out money continually making repairs on a vehicle that is certain to die soon and all that money spent would mean naught.  At least when making payments on a good used vehicle sold by someone whose reputation is not labeled "SHYSTER" ... you would have something dependable and have Air Conditioning also....

Indeed which is why I will go that direction of continuing to throw good money away. Finding a non-shyster vendor is going to be the trick. Although in theory my bank partners with a dealership moving new and used cars. So might start there since it would make getting a loan easier.

Although I am quite certain I would not know how to act if I had a personal vehicle with working A/C. Have not ever had that lovely combination previously.

Got ya there man.  Connie has been suggesting that we also get a new vehicle.  Thinking about another SUV, Subaru Forrester, to replace the 99 we've been running around in.  The AC is that went tits up some time back.  Luckily, the AC in the Baja is still going strong.  Will be getting the Dodge 1500 up - hopefully - this winter.

fingers and toes crossed.

Been trying to get started on a render or two, but the bod just ain't willin'  Much rather kick back a bit and just relax - although that is relaxing - its just not the same.  Been feeling a bit puny and that bloody knothole has gotten even meaner.  Maybe some of Fafnir's coffee will help . . .
Hipshot

Right, 'ere we go.  Roll cross country and go through the ditch . . . fire main gun to look . . . Oooops.  Is it supposed to do that?
