Multi Plane Fog Tool
« on: March 07, 2011, 01:09:06 PM »
Quote from the creator (Bad Faerie) "Long story short. I was working on a render the other day and I needed to add a fog effect to it. I couldn't do what I wanted in the render so I ended up adding the fog in using Photoshop. Doing thing by hand got real old, real fast. So I created a simple Poser\DAZ Studio prop to do it for me in the Render This download includes two objects (found under Runtime:Libraries:character:BadFairy:Fog Tool). A scalable single plane fog tool, and a 3 plane fog tool (also scalable). You can position the single fog plane anywhere you like. Directly in front of the camera, or between your foreground and background work best. You can use multiple planes to increase the fog effect the further into the distance you go. Increasing the opacity will make the fog denser. It's best to have the planes the furthers away from the camera denser than those close to it in order to make the background fade into the fog. Play with the transparency and the surface styles to get the effect that you want (I find a 40% transparency and a Matte surface effect worked well for me). "

For the photoshop challenged like myself.
I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.

Looks like it would be easier on the processor during render time than the Fog Tool Deluxe III that I got from Daz.
