Really, he's observing her rather 'microscopically' - watching her reactions, body language, etc. Because that's how he is.

Once a terrible evil Space Vampire who commanded an entire world started a war because of Alba. Her friends made sure she was never captured. I don't know if she's made up her mind about him quite yet. Thank you all
