Dark Night of the Soul

Tasha had felt this darkness following her for some time. She had always felt at home in the woods, even at night and so it seemed like a good idea when she had woken by bad dreams to go where she often felt comforted by the wisdom and presence of the trees. Many of the leaves had fallen and there was a glowing light that seemed to draw her forward, deeper and deeper into the woods. Then the whispering began, words and her name repeated softly as if she was being called forward. Then as she stopped in a clearing she felt a burning sensation on her forehead, as she felt her will being sapped away from her. In the back of her mind, she thought she should run, leave the woods and find sanctuary... but she could not move her body. She was trapped and was filled with a sense of other beings watching her....waiting...and all she could do was wait as well...
